My name is Roderick Woodard and I am a Physical Education Paraprofessional at Desoto Middle School.  This school year (2017-2018) marks my 8th year with the School District of Desoto County and my 8th year at Desoto Middle School.  Before coming to Desoto Middle School, I worked at Memorial Elementary School as a Paraprofessional in Physical Education.  I also have experience working with students as a Classroom Volunteer, HOSTS Program Mentor, and After School Program Paraprofessional.  This year will also mark my 10th year working with students!

I am a product of the School District of Desoto County, having attended Memorial Elementary School, Desoto Middle School, and graduated from Desoto High School in 2005!  GO BULLDOGS!

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science with an Education Concentration from Ashford University, an Associate in Arts degree in Special Education from South Florida Community College, and earned 18 Credit Hours towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education at Florida Gulf Coast University.  I recently earned my Master of Education degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University.

I am looking forward to assisting teachers, staff, and administrators in providing a safe, supportive, and positive school environment in which students will demonstrate growth in their academics, are motivated to be the best students they can be, and demonstrate outstanding citizenship, character, and leadership.

I look forward to another great year at Desoto Middle School!
